JDY-40 in a radio module with serial input and output.
It works with 2.4GHz frequency and 120m.
So it is home wireless radio.
It works with 3.5V power, not with 5V.
The pis, 6 pcs, are less than 2.54mm, 2mm distance.
It woks maximum +12dB
Receiver sensitivity -97dB
9. VCC maximum 40mA TX and 24mA RX
10. TX or data in
11. RX or Data out
12. Setup, when this is out the device is working condition- When it 0V, the device in in setup stage.
13. CS this enable the JDY-40 device. It must be always 0V, when you use JDY-40.
14. GND
The serial data works with with TTL (not RS232) voltages. RX and TX are normally high ( 3.5V).
So it goes directly to USB-serial data converter,
The English manual is here:

Here are the main PCB
The pins 1-8 are direct digital input and output signals.
I have not used them.
I always use a serial data in and out
The both data works all time.
There is not maximum data size.
You can send data continuously.
So do nothing and put two modules to power and to two serial controllers on.
Set-pin to open and CS pin to ground.
VCC to 3.3V
Serial TX to pin 2 and serial RX to pin 3.
When the power is put on both device give "START".
The "Start" comes also at setup mode,
Then you can send serial data to JDY-40.
The data comes from other device out.
So it works.
How you setup the other address or channel?
I have tried to it about two days, but not succeed.
I have done a new program to JDY-41 and it should be the same as JDY-40, but nothing works.
Well some of command worked at certain times, but not all.
Sometimes nothing in setup worked, while it gives "START".
It works with JDY-41, but not with JDY-40
Here is data send and received by JDY-40
Here is IO connection without serial data
